Retiring a Collection

Thursday, February 19, 2015

I first made a Petal pendant with its intricate engraving perhaps a year or two after I started working as a jeweller and it has grown in size over the following years.

To make each piece a flower shape is hand sawn from sheet silver and then has all of its petals filed in. At this stage the basic piece is sent away to the Birmingham Assay Office for hallmarking. When the pieces return, they are domed, sand papered, polished and then the intricate work begins.
Each petal has its lines engraved by hand individually using an old fashion hand engraver. The process requires a steady hand and a sharp tool which is sharpened up using a wet stone.

With a limited amount of space in the shop to display our work but infinite amounts of space on the website, we have taken the decision to retire the Petal collection.
It will be available only on the website shortly, but for a few weeks only the collection is reduced by 25% (not including the Petal stacking ring).
Just use the code PETAL25 upon checkout on the website.
